NCM14 Web site

Welcome!!

Following the previous very successful edition of the conference, held in Halifax, Canada, the 14th International Conference on the Structure of Non-Crystalline Materials (NCM14) will be held 3-8 November 2019 in Kobe, Japan.

Scope

The NCM Conference is devoted to investigation of the structure and dynamics of non-crystalline materials. Main subjects of the Conference will include, but are not limited, to the next page TOPICS.

Special sessions

We plan to make two special sessions for only the NCM14 conference.

Special session 1: Data science in non-crystalline materials

organized by S. Kohara (NIMS, Japan)

Data science has recently developed dramatically for studies on non-crystalline materials, such as machine learning, topological data analysis, sparse modeling, data driven science, etc.

Special session 2: Structures of non-periodic sites in crystals

organized by K. Hayashi (Nagoya Inst. Tech., Japan)

Recently, non-periodic sites in crystals, such as impurities and clusters, become important subjects in materials science. Although the material themselves are crystals, these site positions cannot be easily determined by only usual diffraction methods, and thus, this field is scientifically similar to the non-crystalline materials field.
